Course Synopsis
This course primaily aims to equip students with oral and written skills which are needed to communicate effectively in an engineering environment. Students are exposed to the use of appropriate language expressions and delivery skills to give technical description and process explanation in group as well as individual presentations. Apart from that, they are also required to produce this type of technical communication in written form. As reinforcement, students have the opportunity to learn at their own pace utilizing self-access language software as well as online tools and resources.
Course Outcome (CO)
By the end of semester, students should be able to:
- CO1: Show the ability to deliver effective informative presentations
- CO2: Prepare effective powerpoint slides to aid presentations
- CO3: Write technical descriptions and process explanations using appropriate language
- CO4: Work in group to complete a task
